"I have got a mic here, but you are listening to me through this one. These are the genuine sounds from the headsets themselves," said John in his most recent WiTalk9 review video, shot in a windy outdoor space.
John E Fry, a.k.a. TheSteadicamMan, is an award-winning director of photography, steadicam operator, and lighting cameraman based in Salisbury, UK.
As a professional filmmaker, he actively shares his artwork, behind-the-scenes stories, and product reviews on social media.
Since receiving the system, John's team has been using it in a good variety of environments including central London for a commercial, on Dartmoor in the wind and rain filming a promo, and live streaming a national event with four cameras.
John's impressions of WiTalk9 and the technologies behind
"It is a fairly windy environment here. There's a lot of noise around. From my test a minute ago, this sounds pretty good," continues John about his impressions of the intercom system after weeks of "playing" in various environments.
The fact that John's voice was clearly heard despite the windy environment is thanks to ClearTalk™, Saramonic's proprietary technology. It consists of three microphones and a noise cancellation algorithm - two microphones on the left and right capture sounds from the surroundings and the remaining one in the boom arm is designed to capture human voice. Together with the algorithm, the system forms an invisible "bubble" around the head and filters noise at 360°, allowing users to communicate what matters the most - the team's messages.

"Over the last few weeks, we've never had any breakup. We've never had the system fall off the network at all," said John of the steady connection, which was made possible through its two antennas and 1.9 GHz frequency band, the former of which enhances the signal strength and the latter features strong anti-interference capabilities in environments cluttered with signals like Bluetooth, 4G, and 5G.
"The other thing I really like about these particularly is how comfortable they are. They are all nicely adjustable. They have really lovely cushions. We've comfortably worn these all day already a few times. And the operators I've had using them have all said how comfortable they are, how easy they are."

When designing WiTalk9, the product manager takes wearing comfort into account, so the system comes with a headband that people can adjust to fit their heads. The single-ear system has an aviation-grade cooling gel ear cushion on one side and a replaceable protein leather head pad on the other, both of which are water and, more importantly, sweat-proof, optimizing long-term wearing comfort and durability.
