Ciel Productions, a London-based filmmaking team, was hired by Hongqi, a Chinese luxury passenger car brand, to capture their Paris Motor Show moments on October 14th — product launch, test drives, and other onsite activities. A total of 3 edited videos were delivered to the car brand and then posted to their social media pages as part of their marketing campaign. Comprised of 5 photographers, 5 videographers, and other specialists, the Ciel Team had been using a mixed solution for their intercom efforts: walkie-talkies and a WiTalk9 system with 1 master and 8 remotes. No interference mid-shoot, great noise cancellation, and comfortable wearing experience are their impressions of the WiTalk9 intercom headset system.
Occupying an area 100 square meters in size and having a 2-story building in the middle, Hongqi's booth served as a meeting place for connecting with their users, impressing visitors, and most importantly — introducing their new lineup EH7 and EHS7 to the European audience. As the largest standing passenger car brand in China's history, Hongqi wished to take the event further by marketing it on social media, where fast-paced, dynamic, and straight-to-the-point videos are highly celebrated. Thus, Ciel Production was hired to capture important moments for the whole event.

"We experienced no disconnections or clippings whatsoever mid-shoot," says Ciel. "I am satisfied with the system's anti-interference — we had booths surrounding us where other teams were using image transmission systems; we were using walkie-talkies ourselves; and we had all the visitors and exhibitors walking around us with their digital devices. You may say it was a signal-dense place. But no signs of interference or clippings occurred when we were shooting."
To cut through the clutter, WiTalk9 uses a less crowded frequency band to transmit signals, which are then further enhanced by its internal and external antennas, enabling the line-of-sight range to reach 500 meters.
"I feel great about the noise cancellation that was nowhere to be found on the intercom headsets we used to use," continues Ciel in the interview. "I like that noise cancellation is activated by default the moment you turn the system on. When you're mid-shoot, you don't have much time to maneuver settings," WiTalk9 offers weak and strong noise-canceling modes that can be switched via the button at the front end of the mic boom. "When you click the button placed near your mouth, you crank the noise cancellation to the strong mode, and the noise you hear in the headset is almost instantly reduced to a minimum level. You don't get distracted as a result."
"We didn't feel a thing when putting the headsets on. And I liked it that we didn't feel pressurized with our ears even after a long time of use," says Ciel about the wearing experience. Coming in the WiTalk9 package are aviation-grade cooling gel ear cushions and foam covers, which offer users alternatives depending on their preference: Cooling gel for instant cooling when putting the headsets on and foam cover when heat dissipation is much more appreciated.
WiTalk9 comes in packages ranging from 2 to 9 headsets and WiTalk9 SE 2 to 5.
For large teams (9 or more) that need to communicate over large crowds, cluttered signals, or long distances, WiTalk9 is the ideal solution.
For smaller teams (5 to 9 people) operating in open outdoor spaces or in indoor environments with few individuals, WiTalk9 SE is recommended.
